Saturday, Dec 13 - BMTA TN/NC Worktrip. Benton MacKaye Trail from Kimsey Highway to FS 23 BMT Section 12c. We will log and brush out this 2.4 mile section of the BMT between the Ocoee and Hiwassee Rivers. Meet at the Hardee's in Copper Hill at 8:30 or the BMT trail crossing on Kimsey Highway at 9 AM. Contact Rick Harris, 423-253-6358, HarrisRi@aol.com.

Monday, Dec. 29th We will start logging out the South Fork Citico Trail with the crosscut saw. Plans are to start at Warden Fields and work our way up to the Grassy Branch Trail intersection (2.7 miles). We can use an old trail to bypass two of the fords in case the water is too high to cross, as it was this past Wednesday when I hiked this segment. I counted 16 trees to clear from the trail, so one work day will do the trick. There are also some broken down Rhododendrons that need clearing for other workers. Meet at the Ranger Station at 8 am.

Wednesday, Dec. 31stWe will be working on clearing some brand new blowdowns on the Warriors Passage Trail. The weather forecast currently looks like we can also re-paint blazes on this same trip. Meet at the Ranger Station at 8 am.
