Friday, March 19, 2010: Pine Ridge Trail - It was a beautiful day  on Pine Ridge we took 19 trees out of the trail.  Right now the trail is clear till the next tree comes down. We did see 2 or 3 trees that looked like they are ready to come down. We also noticed there was still a good bit of snow on top of the mountain range to our right.

Thursday, June 9, 2011 - Pine Ridge Trail - We had a great turnout on a hot summer day to log out the blow downs on Pine Ridge Trail. We started the day with breakfast and the monthly safety meeting at the Ranger Station. It was also great to work for the first time with our new Trails Technician, Travis Schwarzer, and our new Citico Wilderness Ranger, Stephen Eren. We were able to field 4 crosscut saws to do the work, so the crews played leap frog up the mountain clearing the trees that were down on the trail. I don't have an accurate count of the total number of trees cleared, but I would estimate between 16 - 20 trees for the entire trail. We did complete logging out the entire Pine Ridge Trail up to the intersection with Fodderstack Trail. One of the crews had time to do a little brush out work, but much work remains to brush out the entire trail to standards. Here are the volunteer hours for this work trip:
