Gahutti Trail, Fort Mountain
Saturday, November 3, 2012

Brief Description:   The Gahutti trail is a loop trail that is 8.2 miles in length. It basically goes around the top of Fort Mountain which is just east of Chatsworth Georgia. Although it starts and ends at the top of the mountain there is some up and down as it winds its way around the top. Due to the length mostly, it is rated moderate and above. We will probably take a side trip to a nearby overlook which offers some fantastic views to the west and some stone fort ruins. My plans will be to meet in Cleveland and Ocoee at the usual meeting spots to travel there. If you are interested in this hike please call me - James Anderson - at 423-715-8824 no later than 7pm on Friday November 2nd.

Post Trip Report:    It was a bright sunny day and very pleasant temps for a hike.  Shelia Bailey, Phyllis Anderson, Randy Morris, and the hike leader James Anderson completed the 8+ mile hike.  There was quite a bit of up and down trail walking as we skirted the top of the mountain.  The joke for the day was that with four people on the hike we ended up the day with only four good knees amongst us all.
