Conasauga
River Swimming Hole
Sunday, July 5,
2009
Brief Description: Sunday afternoon stroll to the swimming hole on the Conasauga River (trail # 61) downstream from the Jacks River Bridge. Swimming not mandatory. Bring water, rain gear, and I'm taking a late lunch and a sand chair. Except for a beginning section of uphill climb, the rest of the trail is level or downhill. The hike will begin at the upper end of the trail, following the ridgeline for 2 miles, then along the beautiful Conasauga River on an old railroad bed to the trailhead where cars have been left for the return trip. Bring a lunch and plenty of water.
