Brief Description:

This 2 1/2 mile hike located near Spring City is a spur trail that makes a loop off the lower portion of the Piney River trail.  Fall colors should still be good at this low elevation.  Views from the twin rocks are good.  The hike is rated easy with about 400 feet of elevation gain.  A wire caged ladder must be climbed to reach the rocks.  This is a joint hike of the Hiwassee and Cherokee Hiking Clubs.

Post Trip Report: Eight members and guests had a great day for this Sunday afternoon hike.  The weather was wonderful and the changing leaf color against the blue sky background was picture perfect.  We completed the hike in two hours taking our time to admire the leaves and to take in the views.  This was a first trip on this short trail for most of the group.  One indolent black snake was observed by some on the shady side of the hill.
