Post Trip Report:
A total of 12 members and guests met at the trail head parking at Thunder Rock. The weather was very clear, cool and breezy -- a great day to hike. We hiked the Benton MacKaye Trail south up the steep section with many switch backs. The TVA is building a new power line across the BMT trail, not a pretty sight, but they did open the trail up after cutting and chipping the timber. Other than the power line the trail was in very good shape. We hiked the Thunder Rock Express bike trail back to near Thunder Rock with a short road walk back to the parking area. A great group of hikers and two dogs -- thanks to all that hiked with me.Hikers were Clayton Pannell Leader, Debbie Flower, David Flower, Jane Bohannon, Mae Miles, Richard Harris, Mickey Walls, and guests Bill Strade, Kellly Strade, Addie Strade and Alexis Strickland.
